What we collect
- Account: Meal Sync has no separate login and does not use Sign in with Apple. It uses the iCloud account already signed in on your device. CloudKit gives the app an anonymous iCloud user identifier, which the app uses to tell household members apart. We do not receive your name, email address or Apple ID.
- Meal and plan data you enter is stored in Apple iCloud (CloudKit) under your Apple ID. It is kept in your iCloud private database (CloudKit). If you invite other adults to your household, the household's data is shared with them through an iCloud share (CKShare) that you control. Meal Sync does not use the CloudKit public database. We (the developer) do not operate servers and cannot read your iCloud data. This includes any allergies and dislikes you enter for your household. The built-in demo household is stored only on your device and is never uploaded to iCloud.
- Health data: Meal Sync does not use Apple Health (HealthKit) and does not read or write any Health data.
- Purchases: subscription status from Apple. We do not receive your payment details.
Who we share it with
Apple (iCloud/CloudKit for storage and household sharing; the App Store for payments). Meal Sync contains no third-party SDKs: no analytics, advertising, crash-reporting or tracking tools.
We do not sell or "share" personal information (as defined by California law) and we do not use it for targeted advertising.
Data retention
Your meal and plan data stays in your iCloud private database, and with any adults you have invited through iCloud sharing, until you delete it in the app or manage it in your iCloud settings. The built-in demo household stays only on your device. We (the developer) hold no copies of your data on our own servers.
Access and export
You can view and edit your data in the app. Meal Sync does not yet offer a built-in export feature. If you need a copy of your data, email us at apps@freshpathstudio.com and we will help.
Deleting your data
You can delete your account and data in the app at Settings → Delete Account. Deletion removes your household data from your iCloud private database and removes you from any households you joined. If you own a shared household, you choose to hand it over or delete it for everyone first. It also clears the app's data on your device. Deleting the app or your data does not cancel a subscription; cancel it in your Apple ID settings.
Children
Meal Sync is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Your choices and rights
You can review, correct, or delete information as described above, or by emailing us. California residents may request access or deletion; we will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.
Do Not Track
Because we do not track you across third-party sites or apps, we do not respond differently to browser Do-Not-Track signals.
Changes
We will post changes here and update the effective date. Material changes will be notified in the app.
