Your information, explained

Whimulo privacy

Effective date: October 15, 2026

Whimulo is published by Daniel Simonson, doing business as Freshpath Studio, Lincoln, California. Contact: apps@freshpathstudio.com.

What we collect

Whimulo works on your device. We do not operate servers for this app, do not require an account, and do not collect personal information. The app contains no analytics, advertising, tracking or crash-reporting software.

Your creatures, collection progress and settings are saved in a small file inside the app's own storage on your iPhone. That file stays on your device (and in your own iCloud or device backup, if you have backups turned on). Deleting the app deletes this data.

If you tap Share (to back up your collection or share a creature card), Whimulo creates a file and opens the standard iOS share sheet. Where that file goes is up to you and the app or person you pick; we never receive it. Share files are created only when you tap Share, and iOS clears them from temporary storage automatically.

Whimulo does not use your camera, microphone, photos, contacts, location or any other device permission. Sound and motion (shaking the phone) are used only on your device to make your creature react and are not recorded or sent anywhere.

Third-party AI: Whimulo does not send any text, images or other data to OpenAI or any other AI service. Some of the app's artwork, animation and sounds were created ahead of time with AI tools; they are built into the app and the app does not connect to those services.

Who we share it with

None. Whimulo does not include third-party software development kits (SDKs) that collect data. The only third-party code in the app is a graphics library (Three.js) that runs entirely on your device and makes no network connections.

We do not sell or "share" personal information (as defined by California law) and we do not use it for targeted advertising.

How long we keep data

We do not keep any of your data, because none of it is sent to us. Data saved by the app stays on your device until you delete it in the app or delete the app. Share files are created only when you tap Share and are cleared by iOS.

Children

Whimulo is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Whimulo collects no personal information from anyone, including children. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Your choices and rights

Because your data lives only on your device, you control it directly: you can delete it by removing the app. You can also email us with questions. California residents may request access or deletion; we will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.

Do Not Track

Because we do not track you across third-party sites or apps, we do not respond differently to browser Do-Not-Track signals.

Changes

We will post changes here and update the effective date. Material changes will be notified in the app.
